In 2013-2014 something changed in this forum and all the characters encoding got bugged. If you post contains letters like "é, á, ã, ç" it got replaced by some weird characters.

We had it for a few weeks and then it got fixed (only for new posts, the one that got their letters replace didn't get fixed).

What I'd like to know is what caused this bug to happen?

I've came across a site that is having login and database issues recently and I noticed all the foregin letters also got bugged after the issues started to happen. I appreciate if anyone could give me a help.
