It is possible they will work,
but I wouldn't even try,
Mixing RAM brands in not a good idea, even if they do work together.
You had problems getting two of the same models to work together, think what would happen if you added two A-Datas?

8 GB is more than enough form 99% of home applications, and will be for a couple of years.
wishful eyes deceive me
Check if they are compatible, check if they are correctly placed, check if they fit properly the slots, take out the dust (very important, might fuck up the contacts or whatever), if anything check if one of the ram cards isn't working at all or a slot.

I just went through a RAM pain in the ass, my screen wouldn't even show up, tell us if you hear a long beep when your computer turns on and you can't see your screen, that means one of the mems isn't placed correctly or doesn't work, search on Google to find out about more "beep" messages, they are helpful if you actually get the "beeps".

EDIT: Woops ignore my post.

Alan, your post would have been seriously helpful few hours ago. I did hear some beeps and was just like "oh would you just shut the fuck up!!" now that I know it means something it will be helpful in the future.

and i don't really wanna start another battle to try with those A-Data cards so I'll just let them be.

I take it your PC is built for Gaming.
So what Processor do you have?
Was interested in building my PC up and was thinking about getting the AMD Phenom II X4 960T
(heres link http://shop.amd.com/US/All/Detail/Pr...#ComparePrices )
My processor is AMD Phenom II X4 955 black edition. And it isn't really build for gaming as my Graphics card is just ATI Radeon HD 5670 1Gb. It's pretty shit yes. I am just trying to keep my computer updated as far as i can. next update i will do is probably either new hard drives or new gfx card.

Ah nice
Well this is the GFX Card I wanted to get with the Processor

Maybe you will get that to. My friend has it plus the same Processor as you and he only has 3gb RAM and he Runs Battlefield 3 on High settings and gets 60 fps : D
