1Ghz dual core twice as fast as 1Ghz single core
At the heart of the iPad 2 is a 1GHz dual-core Apple A5 processor, which should provide a boost over the 1GHz single-core Apple A4 in the first iPad. Apple says the A5 is two times faster than the previous processor

I guess that means a quad core 3ghz is the same as a single core 12ghz, right? ;)

twice the cores is still a good improvement even if it still is only at 1ghz, lets face it. higher mhz higher power consumption.

while it may not exactly be twice the performance its still an improvement

Yes.
It would make me feel like a mentally handicapped person.
I bet they'll have "Fastest wheeler in the world" tournaments soon enough.
I hope some of my favourite brands of PC accessories don't start making those wheels as well.
That would simply be madness.
