How do you get multiple textures on one object? Like take a sphere give 1/2 red color and 1/2 white per say?

Press c to make the object editable if it isn't already and go to polygon edit mode. Select some poligons and with them selected apply a material, it will apply to the selected area only

Ok. Now Closing. This post will be updated with grades
So far we have graded the following:

Manxie : 9
It's a great concept, you have put some effort into it but we'll need to teach you how to render it with better quality

rfxDarth : 6
It's a good concept but the materials need a lot more work. You show good knowledge of modeling but you didn't put much effort into rendering

Meamme0 : 5

You show some modeling skil but the blade doesn't look like a blade at all. The hilt looks good but in rest everything else is low quality and needs more effort into it

Vladvlad : 8

The hilt is good, it's very nicely rendered but the blade material seems a bit awkward, the red think you put on it doesn't fit at all and the blade still looks a bit flat.
Your concept is of lower quality than the other students but your render settings make it pleasant to look at.

Vexon459 : 7.5
It's a rather simple design but well made. And the fact that you used a tutorial to texture it means you really want to teach yourself which is a very good thing.
