#1 doesn't work for anyone with an educated ear.

Also, I don't hear an illusion in the song you linked. Too lazy to get headphones out. Sounds like a heavily panned track, that's all

All I hear is a tonic alternating between left and right hard pan and something like loh or roh in the centre.

I suppose if I try and force it I can hear dickweed in the right channel.

Are we listening to the same thing? If I take one side off, I hear very clearly, "no way" over and over again, if I listen to the other side, it's also "no way" just emphasized in a different way.
