Yeah this is definitely a big problem with modern society, at least in America, I cant speak for other countries.
I think a lot of it has to do with the media, they always focus on bad shit, you never hear about something great happening, but you always hear about people getting killed. And theres a ton of drama in the media, and if you get all caught up in drama, you tend to hyperfocus on that drama, and a lot of people get butthurt when things dont go their way when it comes to drama.
Another contribution to this I think is the way people are raised now. In todays society, kids are raised around technology, and if you havent already noticed, people are way less social now than they were 30-40 years ago. I always hear stuff from my parents, neighbors, grandparents, etc.. about them going to drive in movies, rollerskating rinks, concerts, and a lot more outdoor activities. I never see anything like that going on anymore, or at least not often. Now you see kids going outside way less, doing a lot less social activities, and almost everyone (atleast that ive noticed) has social anxiety and dont have a social live, or atleast not an active social life. People that are in their early 20's and younger revolve their world around technology, media, and drama. I'm not saying that I am none of these things, or that I dont do any of these things, but thats my thoughts.
I had to write half of this in one class then stop and wait until my lunch period to write the rest, might not all make sense but I think you'll all know what I mean.
Anyone wanna input on what I said?
