The easiest way (the intended way) to shoot is to contract one or both ankles when you want to fire. The quick forward lean shifts the bullets backwards, causing a steady stream of bullets to be fired at will.

Tried them out again online a couple of days ago. It's fun, but I wish there were more bullets and a further distance away.
