I used to kinda want to teach people. But they're so bad learners I gave up. Most people that ask how to play better or how to win from duels, they lazy, they don't even wanna put in work

You offered people real money so you could learn how to duel, gtfo..

stfu, toribash isn't the type of game that you can just pick up and get right off the bat. If you actually wanted to help people you would've explained things to them in a way that actually works instead of just giving up. // off-topic buy had to be said

tb is going down slowly in some ways because there are a lot of lazy kunts who don't want to put any work in. There are always new people coming in and enjoying the challenge and then staying for a while, but there are also hordes of lazies who want to be able to run tb like cod. Pick up and play isn't how it works
It's going up in other ways that I can't name because I don't spend any time in game so I cant actually say anything lel

There's no shame in spending money to get better

In fact, if it can make a difference, it's often a very sensible thing to do and may be a factor in deciding who's gonna get good, who won't

now think about all the college students paying for college, do you consider their decision 'shameful' as well?
Mabye TB isnt going up but it will never die. It too unique for that. Maybe if someone publishes a clone with bigger advertisement and such.
"Why?"
That would have to be some kind of clone I'm not re playing if it ain't perfect.
Going back up to the beginning tutorial, when I joined their wasn't a tutorial and I got along just fine, the players would get along an teach each other stuff. Now, they call each other names and tell them to 'fuck off' if you try to give any advice. They're irreprochoable.
The way games like this need to advertise is through you tubers who know the game kinda well. As soon as we get someone with a gaming commentary channel with a lot of subscribers who actually understands and takes the game seriously (not whining about you tubers who don't btw, I'm impressed that they even try making videos out of such a dull game) we would probably get a wave of popularity. I don't mean specialist toribash channels which started off doing toribash and who's subscribers all already have the game because that tends to require you to already be interested in toribash.

Toribash does well out of its novelty but for a lot of people (especially those who hear about it through youtube) it is only that, a novel and kinda interesting idea which is funny to watch but not actually that accessible as a game. If they saw a you tuber who they respected being kinda decent at toribash and taking it seriously they would approach it like a proper game. That is what we need, not advertising toribash as something it isn't or as a cool idea with not much gameplay (we either lie to make it sound a lot cooler or we don't have time to explain the complexity of it and end up showing it as a boring turn based physics simulation which is kinda funny to fiddle around with).

Maybe I'm wrong. Anyway, I'm not sure Toribash can die, it was never really alive in a big way so I'm not too worried.
Good morning sweet princess
Another thing that came to mind when I was thinking about this game was the staff. To me when I first joined asking help from a Gm or a staff member was almost impossible. You would either be mocked by fellow players and called a noob or no one listened to you because of your belt. Now I realize that people are trying to fix the situation and it isn't easy to explain the whole game to a new comer but I think at least trying could be possible.

I agree with Zelda about advertising. I think we should make an effort to contact some slightly famous Youtuber to do a few episodes and leave the forum in the description. That would probably be a sure fire way to get decent fresh blood into this game. In the past there were great Youtubers that played a few Toribash episodes! And we all remember the amount of noobs, I mean *cough* new players that said "THiS Utub3R PlyD DiS GAm!!"

When I was scrolling through the thread I could smell the burning smell of a flame war. Please try as best you can to keep these things away from this thread. I mean honestly people how hard can it be?
[14:08] <@ego> uncreative fuck R.I.P TL;DR
[14:08] <GoldenRox> That's me all right \(o_o/)
Yeah we already have a couple pretty big you tubers who have dabbled in it (and a couple rising you tubers) but they are casuals at it. The problem is that by the time they get to a high level of youtubing they probably don't have much time left for such a time consuming learning curve as toribash. I know that a lot of the people who joined around the same time as me learnt about it though youtubers like NerdCube. So I guess we just have to hope that someone who still has free time to toribash with manages to get sorta big on youtube.

That being said any attention is good attention so even if 1000 people get introduced to the game as a weird quirky funny physics simulator thingy at least a few of them will see its potential and keep playing.
