No. Do not worry about plugins if you have no clue what you're doing.

Slow down, compare what makes another editor good as far as their velocity/pancrop/other bare bones items. You should also try and develop an eye for what colors look good on/with others before jumping into a preset in magic bullet looks.

Look into learning how to keyframe.

Adding black bars to the top and bottom of an edit can be nice. Definitely watch a tutorial on how to do velocity in Sony Vegas properly.

Very weak cinematic's (try Keyframing) I mean that depends on your style but
it would really add to your video if you had more
