wouldn't it be great to see what kinds of things people could map on to these
"simple" body parts?
The past makes you wanna die out of regret, and future makes you depressed out of anxiety. So by elimination, the present is likely the happiest time.
the event would turn into wouldnt it be even funnier watching the <10 artists who actually know what the heck is going on with tb rectangular textures map something. your speaking to a small crowd with that event. look at who entered into clamity's event. look at who didnt post a 2nd or 3rd head EVEN tho they made it into that round.

its the way art events work around here.

even if you are a good artist irl its gonna take some getting used to the mapping of everything, so new artists wont enter. Then you have to have a tablet in order to put up a decent fight for what people thinks is good art.
But once you figure out how mapping works you can fake the rest.

just my take on texturing events.

why to make textures?
it is a simple and silly work.
people does texture easily , because is doesnt require much drawing knowledge.

if we do traditional/digital art, we would simply have no entries.
why? because I good frame requires skill.
Things you need to think:
-composition
-pose
-anatomy
-colors
-shading
-perspective

people wont ever do good stuff at general art.
Plus, guess what, for a new artworks there isnt a fair prize.
who cares for TC and ST.

Takes skill to make something worth watching same as regular art.

You will have a ton of entries, you just need to make it interesting and easy which you have failed to do so far.

there are some good stuff, and some bad, just as you would expect in a random gaming forum that isn't focused on art specifically. Also does it matter if they know all that stuff? they can still participate.

Uhm practically everyone on the forum except a few of the eliteist fags
the problem is it needs to be fun and engaging. AND you need to have an equal chance of winning based on a creativity or ideas. The problem with the judging right now is I can usually guess the top 3 out of any competition based on who entered. How does this promote anyone else to enter if they won't win??

I agree with this, but art is very subjective. In order for an event to be more fair,
there needs to be a very specific criteria for it to be judged, yet this would take
away from the creative aspects of the event.
In all honesty, you can't judge art fairly. All the judges will have subjective
opinions on what they feel are "better" pieces, and, as a standard for what
"good" art is has already been widely recognized, it would certainly be easy
to tell who has the greater chances of winning events like these
There are people who ruin the atmosphere just by existing, you know.

the GATa artists will win for sure,
at this moment we have a few good artists.
and among this we have a favorite, I have mine.
the calamity event showed who is the favorite.
Pick judges who have brains and judge idea and creativity rather than execution.
I don't find that hard.
Obviously take effort into account as well.
and then you end up with a possibly of 1% of the tb community guaranteed as winners. WHY ENTER THEN?
