I think that clans should be whatever the clan wants to be. If a clan, say, Friends of the Earth, wanted to be just a mainly forum-going, social clan, then there's no point they shouldn't be. Having a group of friends to socialise with would be fun if you had a specific board for each group of friends to post in, but you can't, which is why you need a clan to do that. That's why there's so many clans. And I don't see why that's a bad thing.

Archangels got me hooked on the forums. Looking back, we probably weren't the best clan, but it made me play the game, and i've come a long way since then. Hard to tell what would've happened if I never applied to a clan.

If they want a forum, it is not difficult to make one for free. There is also the social groups function here in the forums.

my clan is offical and we dont play ingame at all. if, not much.. we just have a forum where we can talk pretty good etc.
we know each other also pretty good and play much other games with them.
i could say we are not a toribash wide clan, we are there in several games, just not overall with the tag ^^
so jea, a clan is more for social and for playing with friends, thats the meaning of a clan... or not?
