I have a few 3D models that are good, but I made them through tutorials.
And I've seen people get flamed to death on art they posted that they made from tutorials.
So I'm curious to see what the community thinks of it.
So... Is it considered your art if you made it from a tutorial?

Its your art because you took the time to design it, but with help.

i wouldnt say its yours really. if hampa teaches you a move and you use it, is it yours? no, not really. if you followed 1000 step-by-step instructions on a model perfectly, youre just copying what someone else did, right?

It's complicated.
The creator of the tutorial well and truly knows that people will obviously copy that design and use it for whatever they like.
It's definitely yours, but you didn't make it. Well, you didn't make the original, at least.

It's like buying fruit from the supermarket. It's now yours, but you didn't grow it.

It is yours, however its not quite as spectacular if its taken from designs or tutorials. Its like 'well yeah, you made it, but many people have done the same by following those steps'
