How does one go about uploading a gif as their desktop background? Haven't really ever seen that before this thread. Also I'm on a Mac so if its impossible for Macs then just say so now so I can crush my dreams while they are young.

Looks to me like rainmeter. I'm sure you'll find something for your OS if you give it a google.
