Invitation system
This is about an invitation system. Let's imagine that a player A just created a spar server, adjusting all the required gamerules (engagedistance, mod, ... etc). Then he notices that his friend B has just connected. Instead of leaving his server in order to join B, A could do something like : "/invit B". B would see a notification on his screen like a "whisper" message, saying "A has invited you to his server : sparlikeagod", then B could click on it and be automatically redirected to A's server.
Or even during a war: when he sees another clan coming, he could just invite all clan players ingame with this command instead of op someone else, leaving the room, comeback in the room, asking for reop and all that stuff.

the problem with this is cross-server whispering (which should also be a thing), but it would be needed in order for this to work, then you would some how make the room name some sort of link or redirect for the game to join the room.
Wouldn't exactly need "cross server whispering" @ universe

As for the suggestion itself. It's a nifty little idea. But I mean on the other hand it takes you what? 30-60 seconds to set up a server? Prior to that, 5 seconds to whisper your friend and ask if they want to spar? Yet, way longer to actually code & implement such feature into the game. Also, on your support statements of having to leave the room, op someone and ask for op back. There is a command /setowner for that.
With steam, you can join the room of your friend, but if you have lots of friend, you won't click on every profile to see if they are ingame. Also if your friend is in a private server, you won't be able to join him with Steam, but if you invitated him, he will be able to do it.
And there is I think something like 1/3 of the toribash players who don't play Toribash with Steam
