It may not seem more impressive than alot of other drummers but his technique is PERFECT

and the time signatures are nearly impossible

I love Dream Theater their music is awesome the only things I hate is how Petrucci solos are so hard I can't learn em ЌЌ

His drum set is ridiculous.

Yeah he can play good but the rhythm is just ankward and I can't feel the groove in his playing.

There is no need for a ultramega big drumset if the player has some creativity. Music is about creativity right? not about equipment and individual skill. IMO

I think neal pert is a bit over-rated
same with phil collins

tho they are excellent drummers

but THE most over-rated drummer is definately Joey Jordinson



and with Progressive metal, its hard to create a groove considering the time signatures.

I believe in one song mike plays an 8/13 with his hands and a 3/4 with his feet.

I didn't even know 8/13 existed o.0
