Glitchracer Ideas.
I have no idea if glitchracer is going to be worked on or not, it was originally delayed because of Wii Toribash, and I guess it's going to be put behind 4.0 so I figure we have plenty of time to come up with some nice ideas for the game.

Seeing as the mods are (or at least are planned to be / were) scripts the possibilities are much more varied than toribash's basic mods.

So I was thinking, why not come up with a thread for awesome ideas for when the game eventually does come out and the demand for awesome mods is high?

IDEAS SO FAR:
  • Upside down portions - Blam
  • Turbo (Might be built in) - Blam
  • Objects on the bike to clear other objects
    • Guns - Blam
    • Giant Pole - Blam
    • Lazers - SlipAnc
    • Lightsaber (As if) - Evil
  • Inverted / Different handling areas - Blam
  • Moveable shield - Blam
    • Deflect objects
    • Move using mouse? (Depends on glitchracer controls)
  • Energy Shield - Slipanc
    • Deflect objects
    • Stop you from being squished and shit.
  • Tron Mod - DltBot
  • Powerups - AlexOwnz
    • Speed increase - AlexOwnz
    • Invulnerability - Cannot crash/wipeout, even if you smack into a wall at the highest attainable speed in the game. - Ragdollmaster
    • Matrix - The whole game slows down to about half the normal speed, giving you some extra reflex time to set up big jumps and trick combos. (Basically slow-mo) - Ragdollmaster
    • Wings - Gives you a big forward boost when you're in the air (perhaps we could have a powerup like that at the beginning of a track with a fudge enormous jump) - Ragdollmaster
    • Landscape (Good) - Alters that around you "Kind of like that game Fracture, except not average" - Randomguy8
  • Powerdowns (things you would want to avoid) - Ragdollmaster
    • Deep Freeze - The track turns icy and you can't get any traction. Extremely slippery and hard to balance on. - Ragdollmaster
    • Big Rig - Your acceleration/max speed abilities stay the same, but turning and decelerating both become much, much harder. - Ragdollmaster
    • Vertigo - Makes the track on the edge of the screen bend up, giving you a warped view of the course. The only unchanged portion would be a small bar in the middle, and the curve would gradually get steeper as it moved out from the center of the screen. - Ragdollmaster
    • Blackout - The track gets much, much darker, making it hard to see. - Ragdollmaster
    • Gale - Storm winds arise! You're gradually tossed from side to side by the fierce wind, forcing you to recenter your course repeatedly until the effect ends. - Ragdollmaster
    • Landscape (Bad) - Alters that around you "Kind of like that game Fracture, except not average" - Randomguy8

  • Vehicle Types - Culapou
  • Track Modifications - Ragdollmaster
    • Speed Strip - Ye good olde acceleration strip. For some reason or another you get a boost of speed going over one of these, whether it's a on a straightaway or the entrance to a big jump. Featured in a crapton of racing games, sure everyone's familiar with it. - Ragdollmaster
    • Slow Strip - The opposite of the Speed Strip! Avoid these or you'll get bogged down considerably and your momentum will break. - Ragdollmaster
    • Sticky Goo - Hit them too fast and you crash (flip over), hit them too slow and you stop. - Blam
    • Ice - No friction. - Blam
  • Combat Racing - Batyz
    • For battle there can be 3v3, 2v2, 1v1, free for all ( up to 6 people ) and for races there will be things like solo ( as in single player, to see what time you can get on a stage ), multiplayer race ( where you race other people, up to 6 at once ), and then there could be like these little "minigames" like one where you drive off a ramp and have to hit a target and shit. - Ownagehuh

    • Some have better handling but are not as fast, etc.

Powerups, objects found on ground to increase abilities. Heighten speed and things along that line.

EDIT: Another idea for powerup, possibly gravity changes? Heighten or lower gravity.
Then things that may also screw you up, like inverted controls, speed reduction. Classic game stuff.

Curious what the games actual features will involve.
Would be cool to have multiplayer things, involving racing and such.
The ability to create your own track.

First genuinely good thread about glitchracer, bravo.

But I can't think of anything good for a racing game without copying stuff from MKDD like being able to throw shit at other players to hit them. And even that would be pretty stupid.
well....customizing, like colours and such, also I would suggest creating different bikes (if it is what they are) beginning from the original concept: for example, ca racer without wheels, not because they aren't there, but because they're transparent, so giving the idea of a strange gravity bike.

It would be cool to have a race mode on multiplayer, race and fighting at the same time :P

Have the normal white bike at the beginning, then you can win money by doing races ( depends if you come in 1st 2nd 3rd ect ) and buy different wheels, bodys and designs n shit, aswell as levels, so whenever you sort of level up ( by completing battles/races ) you can put on new attributes such as handling and accelerating and top speed.
