I don't support this idea for the fact that it would add unneeded lag for those who don't need/use it.
Also like any other game most people will still stick to teamspeak or skype.
Besides this game has a huge age range from 9-20+ (most being 12-14) all it will cause is hate for anyone under 15 using the mic.

Some people might get bullied... but if they get bullied they'll stop using their microphone. Problem solved.


Have you played any source or steam game with an integrated voice chat? Because it's push to talk and the lag isn't noticeably different when it's on or when it's off.

If there's an option to turn it off and it should by off by default in my opinion then it will be a great addition and really easy to add because there is an API on steam if my memory serves me correctly.

Or there could be a ingame chat channel system where players can create voice channels where there friends can join providing they put the correct password in much like the game channels. also there is no reason for this to cause any lag. most if not all mp games made by valve have voice and even with it disabled it doesnt change a thing. voice only uses on average 7/12 KBps. per user im a call its video that would cause you issues.

obviously i think this should be a tori prime feature tho as there arnt many if any free-ware solutions for in game voice chat source code. i know teamspeak have some sort of code but thats rather expensive and would seem more useful just to tell players to just rent a teamspeak from somewhere

This would be alright but.... The problem is yet again with the vote mute you don't need to vote just silence him with a mute button don't vote because then he'll know your voting and leave. Plus just use skype its better then listening to a server of people

I think this would only cause more lag than there already is. Just use Skype, silly. :3

Regarding this particular suggestion, no need to worry about "lag" or the difficulty of it being implemented.

As it can be done through Steam.

Think of ways to better improve it with Toribash. Perhaps maybe some rules to go along with it, and why.

Make a toribash tinychat where everyone who wants to join can join.
Voice chat on toribash would cause people swearing and calling you names in their native language(if it's not english).

not many people understand that with this implemented, there need be a "Mute" button in the option list when you right-click someones name in the Queue, so that you don't need to worry about 6 year old boys calling you a dumb bitch, or a cunt.

I dont think Toribash needs something like this. Most games with this is because you need to work with a team. You can setup a teamspeak server or use skype
