it seems in Turkey and Marocco card games, bettings may be prohibited due to undeserved wins or loses, hard rock, some other things can be prohibited too

For boys they rather things that are less in deatil and more bold in the main picture. Boys Generally like colors such as green navy, Girls colors purples reds pinks, gamewise at that age i played pokemon and beyblade and little trding cards games

Well, in Poland there are no forbidden animals etc. In my opinion the preffered animal would be a teddy bear. There's a long history of teddy bears in polish cartoons etc., Winnie the Pooh is also very popular there. Other than that, I think that young boys generally prefer the more 'boyish' animals - lions and tigers come to mind. As for girls, I dunno, I guess it's... ponies >_> Teddy bear would be a bit neutral I think.
Otherwise, dogs are also quite popular (google Reksio).

Also, from my experience of buying presents for nephews etc., young boys in Poland are crazy about firefighters/policemen. And they quite enjoy football.

Also, children love primary colours!

I chose a cat.
Children of this age need a friend, thus houseanimals would be the best pick.
They were also a bit scared of some predators.

The reason I chose a cat instead of a dog is because dogs keep the angels away in the Islamic culture.

Well I live in Turkey.
6-8.These kids usually like nickalodian,Disney and stuff like that.
Spongbobe is actually hated here.
Not many do watch.
Card Games are usually what they do.
Computer,maybe for the cool ones.
They would like action figures to.
Beyblade is also something many like.
They like dark colours like ''red,black,blue''.
That what they do the most.
