It was a good time
Greetings fellow toribashers,
It's been a 6 years since I started to experement with collisions and physics and later come up with idea to start a project known as toribash. I'm gratefull for all support you provided for all these years, without YOU toribash would not become such phenomenal game as it become to this moment.
But time goes by, things changed. Sadly we can't keep the servers rent and overal due lack of profitability we literaly run just to sustain the game.
We can not provide you much updates and I sincerely apologise for that.
We can not keep staff motivated when all our income goes on servers rent.
So here comes the deal: We eather agree on commercialising the game and implementing new marketing system which will exclude free trade, or basicly sayiing goodbye to toribash.
I understand, many people would not be pleased by this turn, but if you want to keep people motivated, your business should be anyhow profitable. I guarantee that all future income will go for gameplay improvements and promoting toribash among internet aswell as game mgazines.
I would like to state that we will stay true to origins of toribash and we would not intoruce any items of features that will give advantages for people who consider to use microtransactions, in other words, ONLY CUSTOMISATION will be chargeable. Basicly, only if you want to make your character to stand out, but it would not give any advantages. Only look.
We understand that for many people toribash market become like home on pages of our forum, we are proud that we managed to build such free system for everyone to trade with each other, but while it's great, it aslo undermines whole market. After long discussion with our new economic specialist, we decided to call such hard and double edged decision, for the sake of future of toribash.
We will try to come up with system which will be comfortable for people and viable for us as developers to keep our small studio motivated and have resources for promoting and improving our beloved game.
I hope you will support our decision and together we will make toribash the greatest and most sucessfull game of it's genre.
