Being a bootlicker and making comics in the style of Toribash in a Nutshell doesn't make your comics funny or accurate.
An ES showing this attitude is definitely not what this thread needs... At least make it look like you're trying to work with the community for fucks sake
Absolutely embarrassing, imagine shrugging off actual concerns of the community as a fucking joke.
ES is not involved in this event, it is run mostly through Icky with help from Erth and clan squad. I have no more sway over anything that happens in CL then anyone else. In the context of this event I am solely a participant, not a staff member.
Just because you are not involved in the actual running of the event does not inherently make you "not a staff member". This is especially the case when you are showing this attitude on a thread in the events board (also in the thread of an event that has previously been run by ES), of which your usergroup covers.
My apologies, I didn't realize 'Toribash in a Nutshell' pioneered MS paint stick figures and any quick drawing after it's birth was copying its style. I will be sure to switch my major to graphic design so I may avoid that issue in the future.
1. The item isn't being kept a secret it literally just hasn't been completed yet. If it could be revealed it would be revealed. Icky has been incredibly transparent and receptive of the community thus-far including making multiple threads before CLs launch where he took community feedback and allowed the community to vote on many aspects of the event. There's no reason to believe that would randomly cease now. He wasn't required to give spoilers, we could have just been kept completely in the dark until it was finished. The narrative that Icky's niceties are somehow not nice enough is completely unfair.
2. This is about trade-offs, the prizes may be announced later than usual but as compensation you now avoid the risk of literally not receiving your prizes/having to wait years to receive them. To some people the wait might be worth the reward but don't forget Toribash Next is in development and it seems unlikely any custom item will convert over, you run the risk of literally receiving your item after this game becomes obsolete if you go the custom item route.
4. OH MY GOD THE PRIZES LITERALLY HAVE NOT BEEN RELEASED YET YOUR CRITICISMS ARE ABOUT AS USEFUL AS A BLIND MANS CRITIQUE OF A PAINTING. This isn't boot licking, it's sense enough to wait until I actually know what it is I'm complaining about to start complaining.
the idea of a 3D item that modifies the body of Tori as the prize for 1st is an undesirable prize... It could be the most amazing 3D item in the world and people probably still wouldn't wear it.
Additionally, there is one item forger who is consistently active. That one item forger has to make every item for every event. Basically every single ES event/event idea request a custom item, some request multiple. If custom clan items couldn't reliably be delivered in the past when multiple forgers were active there's no reason to assume it would go any better now. These are not one man decisions or the product of organizer laziness, they don't just go "Everyone liked this too much and it was too easy to deliver, let's get rid of it." Just because Clan Leagues of the past made the mistake of over promising on the reward doesn't mean this one will.
3. Icky has asked multiple times for prize suggestions through his pre-CL threads and even reaching out to Clans who have traditionally taken CL very seriously and asking them personally what they'd like to see. Everyone already had the opportunity to suggest and discuss prizes. Icky is by no means infallible and they have to balance suggestions with whats feasible. It's true the item will probably not please everyone but Icky (and Erth) have requested an item that they think is really cool and I trust their judgement. They do not have unlimited resources or power and cannot promise the world, they can only promise their best, which they have done and that's good enough for me.
