But if you just make his textures transparent, wouldn't that leave the joints at full color? Of so I think that would look odd. I feel that method would only work if he joint textures.

Actually I put the swexx's replay as an overlay, over the challenger's replay, with an oppacity of 50% and change colors to green, to get a similar result as the example picture.
