Also I really doubt I could do that "program" especially considering I can't think of a "future", etc. It seems more or less like a program that helps you identify your goals and how to work for them. However, I don't really have any goals for life or anything like that and just don't care about anything. Idk, hard to explain.

I'm pretty much dead, just my body hasn't caught up with my brain.

I'm thinking that a program which helps clarify and solidify goals would be ideal for someone without direction... Sounds like a perfect match.

It's a good match for someone that can find something to achieve/look forward too.
Don't think it really works for people that are incapable of "imagining" what could be one day.

I've been to therapy for depression before, and even the psychologist couldn't do much with me and asked if I thought I'd do better with someone else as my psychologist. Which I don't think it would have, but it's nearly impossible to help someone find a goal when they don't really care for things. Like someone's goal may be to have a wife and kids. Me, I don't really care. If it happens then it happens but I don't want to pursue it and waste my life pursuing something that may not happen. So goals to me aren't really worth getting hopes up or w/e. Idk hard to explain.

A goal has to be something "realistic" and achievable, but there are a lot of "normal goals" that aren't actually realistic/achievable. So meh

And say you do have goals or are able to make goals for yourself. What's the point? Why even bother? It's not like it matters whether or not you achieve goals you've made up for yourself.

Goals give you direction and purpose. It gives you actual meaningful stuff to do in your everyday life. So you'll be less bored. Also, constantly doing stuff and sticking to your goal builds up the willpower and motivation muscles in your brain. You don't have to be obsessed about attaining your goal either, as the saying goes 'enjoy the ride'. You should aim to find happiness along the path, not just at the end of the journey (if you ever make it there). Basically happiness =/= success. Instead, happiness = fulfilment.

You've heard of Maslows hierarchy of needs I'm sure:

Look at the 'self-actualization' section at the top. This describes the 'meeting of one's potential'. Another way of thinking about it is 'what a man can be, he must be'. What I'm getting at is that goal-setting and this 'self-actualization' thing is a great way to max-out your mental + physical health (the hierarchy was developed from a psychological study of the healthiest 1% of a population).

Perhaps it was ill-advised to recommend you undertake Petersons 'self-authoring' (basically self-actualisation), before you attain most of the lower needs. Attaining these more fundamental needs would certainly help clarify the direction you want to take your life.

Clan League 2017 1st place holder.
It's called getting older, add that you spent practically every day playing the same stuff and doing nothing else...

Was going to happen eventually.

Y'know computers can do more than just play games, maybe time for you to explore the possibilities; after all you wont know if something is interesting until you actually try it.

Some dark thoughts you got seeping out, man.
At this time my goal is trying to solidify a path through life which brings me happiness and laughter along the way. Pretty vague for now, but I'm sure I'll get there.
In the last years, I've gone away from many of the things that made my adolescence colorful (primarily living and travelling in the jungle), and since then been heavily tormented by some of my experiences from that time.
The past-authoring is making me flesh out those memories, which has helped in distancing who I am from what I've been through. It also makes me hopeful of the future-authoring having some positive effect as I progress through the program.
It is having an impact on me, which is why I brought it up and offered it to you.
I do have the bias of having listened to many of Dr. Peterson's lectures on many topics before I heard about self-authoring, though.

I think realizing the plan you make at the last step self-authoring could be self-actualisation, but I'd imagine the first parts could have a positive impact on both socialising and one's esteem, so no reason in waiting. You can also work your way through it more than once.

BUT
I did ask if the self-authoring sounded interresting, you wanted it, and you were willing to work on it. As far as I can tell, neither of the three are the case at this time, so no worries. At the proclamation of depression it is a reflex to flaunt my belief that all such matters are surmountable.
If only we were together, babbu, ayahuasca in hand.
