So many kids do taekwondo nowadays :P

Not trying to be mean, but it's one of the absolute worst martial arts for self defense.

Although, maybe that's not their goal.....i don't now.

Tbh, most schools claim to be like, "ULTRA KUNG-FU NINJA!" but really are just like... shitty mixed martial arts.

Krav Maga, Expert. (That's the ranking... you've got Level 1-5 Practitioner/Beginner, Level 1-5 Graduate, and then Expert, which is pretty much general mastery. From then on your individual power determines how kick-ass you'll be in a brawl.)
How to complain in style: GG, Mahulk.

What do you mean "shitty mixed martial arts"? D:

MMA is one of the most practical things you can learn.
I realise it's a mix of styles, but it sort of became a style on it's own now.

Taekwondo, on the other hand, is just flashy acrobatics.
Along the lines of capoeira.
Pretty, but largely useless in a real fight.

Some of the more practical martial arts for real life situations are in order:

Combat Sambo
Krav Maga
Muay Thai
Jiu-jitsu (more useful in MMA or grappling tournaments though)
Kickboxing
Judo
Greco-Roman wrestling
Karate
Boxing (very 1-dimensional, but it's perfect for bar brawls and whatnot)

Thats not what I meant, oddy.

I meant that they have their own curriculum that they teach which doesnt involve contact interaction.

Of course, I'm quite an MMA fan.

And i realize that in controlled conditions in a 1 vs 1 match jiu-jitsu fighters are great.

Street though.....is slightly different business.
In a street fight, striking becomes much more important.
Especially somewhere in a bar, for example.
You won't pull guard when another guy is kicking you in the head or if your opponent has a knife.

That's why military arts like CS and Krav Maga are so high on the list, they are very versatile. They are also brutal, and to the point. No unnecessary bullcrap.

O i c, sorreh <3
