Like some have said before, yes there is a low dm threshold, sometimes there are random breaks, etc. This forces you to play defensively. I think it's very safe to assume just about all of the community rarely ever plays defensively. That's why most people say it's just luck. If you just try to dm someone, rather then prevent having your arm broken, then strike when its safe, you can see what I'm talking about.
