Spar with SirJonah62
Hey i'm matarika, i'm a female sparrer and have been sparring for a some time now, i'm focusing on my sparring training, so i was always afraid to post here fearing i would get insults totally dumped on me. I feel like it's time to mature and take it. So heres a sparring replay i did. I felt really good about it, but theres always room for improvment. I've always been told i'm too stiff when i spar since i started, but no matter how much i spar fluidly, i always return to my old style. So im stuck with it. Hope you all enjoy my replay hope i didn't bore you with my sob story xD. Depending on how this goes, i will see if i can post more, now that i have to guts to do it. Here you go -->
(you dont have to read this) v
Anyway i have something to say about sparring though. I hope i don't get penalized for this, its still post related because this is what inspired me to post this. Like People say stiff sparring is bad and should be improved with fluid sparring. People would always come in and say i suck for being so firm and stiff. What i find cool about sparring is none of that stuff matters because you have your own style. Fluid is so mainstream, sparring is creativity. Saying all sparring should be fluid is not letting people be creative. People tell beginners, that they need to be fluid. Well thats not letting them develope their own style. If you shove this way of sparring down everyones throat, unique sparrers like Oblivion, LargeKilla, and Swexx will never be rencarnated. All you'll see is the same style over and over again. Lets inspire new ways of sparring, like Stiff Sparring inspired By northern Stiff like Kung fu. No one has the right to judge other peoples sparring unless its something like simple running or even balance, but even that shouldnt be judged. Drunkin Kung fu is the most unbalanced fighting style, yet one of the most effective and as for running, if someone practices and devolpes a way to run or fight on their own in sparring, then we'd see more new creative styles not just the same things we've seen in poplar toribash videos, and youtube running. If someones stiff and slow but still kicks ass and makes the replay look good despite your rambling of Fluidity and speed make sparring replays good, then what then? People always try to act like they're encouraging people to spar their own style, but it still wont be as popular or noticed if it's not familiar
