Try running it in fullscreen. I don't know how to do it without seeing the screen though :S

I've waited for like 15 minutes for the game to start, but nothing happens.

EDIT: I've tried every button on the keyboard now, couldn't find how to run in it fullscreen.

There's an argument you can put in the shortcut to change the size, not sure if that allows you to run it full screen. And if it's not working after 15 minutes, it's not a loading problem. Or at least, I doubt it is.

A command?

I start up the game -> I can still see my desktop -> punching and kicking noices -> followed by a 'game over', and then the same schedule over and over and over again...

Yeah, that happens to me when it's loading as well.
I'm running Vista as well.
Maybe give it a bit of time to load?
