Global Rules
Toribash Rules
These rules are applied to all areas of both the forum and the game. While you are not required to read these rules, not being aware of them is not and never will be an excuse to not follow them. Repeat offences are subject to increased punishments. Please note that while this post covers all of the basic rules, it is by no means a comprehensive list of every punishable action - a healthy dose of common sense does wonders in keeping one out of trouble.

Forum Rules

- Useless posting

Posts in any area of the forum should be kept on-topic and useful. If a post has little content or does not contribute to the discussion at hand, it may be infracted at a moderator's discretion. Each section also has its own more specific rules about what constitutes an appropriate post.

- Backseat Moderation

Backseat moderation is when any person other than a moderator attempts to enforce any rule upon another member. If you see a user breaking a rule, please use the report button by their post to alert a moderator to it so that proper action can be taken.

- Thread necromancy: bumping old threads

Generally you should not bump a thread that is over a week or two old. In the off-topic or discussion board you can feel free to bump a thread at anytime as long as you are adding to the discussion (re-sparking the discussion, adding new viewpoint, adding new information, etc...)
When arriving at a thread from a google search be especially mindful to check the date first before you post to avoid bumping old threads.

In-Game Rules

- Rigging a Decap Prize
First off, a decap prize is a PUBLIC mini event that is available in any server with the command "/decapprize <****>" used to add any number between 1 and 20,000 TC to the server. The server will award said TC to the person that succeeded in decapping the other person's tori. (assuming they also win the match)

What is rigging a DP? Rigging a DP means you are setting up the DP to be taken by a specific user or users, be that anyone including yourself. This does not matter if the DP has "your TC" in it. If TC was added to the DP it was donated and, once donated. Is no longer yours and you have NO CLAIM to it at that time or in the future. This means that any attempt to take the TC because "it was yours before you put it in" will be treated as a Decap Prize Rig. If you believe a DP was rigged, or you believe one is about to be rigged, please contact a Staff Member and/ or make a Scam Report. TAKE SCREENSHOTS and please try to provide a replay.
Secondary note: The type of server makes no difference, tournament, bet server, public etc. Decap is public prize and is to ALWAYS BE WON FAIRLY. Any deviation from this rule results in serious punishment.
As a further note, if the server is dying, you may not change the mod/rig the prize. The same rules apply, regardless of whether the server is ending.

2: - Decap Prize abuse

As stated above, the decap prize is meant as a reward for player that scores decap. Using the decap prize to intentionally transfer TC for whatever reason (e.g. to hide transfers or send money to accounts below 20 qi) is prohibited and will be punished as an abuse of system. Any similar workaround transfers will be punished as well.

- Duel Trapping

Duel trapping occurs when, by use of the in-game duel system, one player forcibly enters another player into a duel for which they did not agree. Trapped duels will be regarded as a victory for the trapped player and a ban will be placed upon the trapper. In the case of an unintentional "trap", because mistakes are made, the TC will simply be returned to the owner.

- Room Names

Room names and descriptions should be kept appropriate. Insults, profanity, racial slurs, and any other inappropriate material is not allowed in room names or descriptions.

- Soft Rules

Soft rules, such as "no shoveling" or "no decap openers" are not supported. While you may agree to them in cases of dueling, they will not be upheld by the staff if either party does not stand by the agreement. In addition, placing soft rules on any form of event or bet server is strictly prohibited.

- Farming

Farming is defined as any method of causing harm to the system such as excessive botting or using exploits and bugs to abusing the system to get around the anti-farm prevention in order to gain more TC/qi/elo than normal play would allow. The daily caps on earning TC and qi should be sufficient to prevent botting and excessive earning. Farming is not allowed and will be severely punished.

- Multi-clienting

Multi-clienting occurs when two or more clients are connected to any one room from the same network. When this occurs, (MC) appears next to the names of multi-clienting account. Multi-clienting is forbidden in any official servers. Players are allowed multi-client in private rooms.

- Playing in Official Beginner Rooms on Alternate Accounts

Playing in official beginner rooms on an alternate account will result in you receiving an IP ban from the beginner rooms. Leave the beginner rooms to legitimate beginners.

- Bots & Automation

Any nefarious use of unauthorized software will result in harsh reaction from the staff.
a) Any kind of bots playing the game automatically are not allowed. You may use scripts to quickly perform moves, however if you are found AFK-botting, you will be immediately banned.
b) Bots managing rooms without the presence of a human operator are not allowed. Bots may not be /house of any room.
c) Bots are not allowed to be in players list nor use chat.

Global Rules

- Insulting other members

Insulting other members of the game for any reason is not allowed. We wish to maintain a friendly environment, and any flaming or harassment will result in a ban. This includes any homophobic or racial slurs in public space - for more information read here.

- Pornography/Gore/Warez etc.

Pornography/gore/warez etc. are not allowed anywhere at any time for any reason within the Toribash community. Any content of this type in any form will result in a severe ban. This includes linking, requesting, or mentioning such content, this community is not the place for it.

- Scams

A scam occurs when two players come to an agreement or deal for any sort of transaction, be it in the market, dueling, or otherwise, and one party fails or refuses to meet their side of the deal. Scams will be severely punished, and anything owed by the offender will be sent from their account. If you have been scammed, you should create a post in the Scam Reports section of the forum and be sure to include all relevant information and evidence so that the staff may help to resolve the issue.

- Hacking, Bug Exploitation, and other abuses of the system

Any form of hacking or exploitation of any bugs for any reason will be severely punished. If you suspect a bug in either the forums or the game, please contact an administrator immediately and do not share information of the bug with anyone else.

- Account Trading/Sharing

Accounts may not be sold, traded, or transferred to another person in any way. Any account found to be transferred temporarily or any attempts to transfer an account will result in a permanent ban of the account in question as well as appropriate punishment for any other users involved.

- Broadcasts

Use of the broadcast system should be limited to advertising in-game tournaments and events. Advertising market items, requesting duels, making non-event related announcements, or any other uses of the system will result in a ban. Broadcasts should also not contain any profane language.

Hello.

I'm requesting a more detailed explanation in the case of "Duel Trapping".

How does duel trapping work?

Anything that's done deliberately to force another player into a duel is classed as duel trapping.
Obviously accidental ones do happen, but it's pretty easy for us to tell the difference.

Ingame bots & automatization rules included in the first post. Do note these are not new rules, they were simply scattered over the entire forums and missing in this thread.

Being freindly isn't much of a thing
Some mods are named inapropietly. If you want a freindly enviroment for the community, you'll have to add cencoring or some stuff like. No one will stop roasting each other and roasting online is the thing.

Most inappropriate mods have been removed from mod list that comes with the game. If you still know mods that are blatantly offensive feel free to report such activity to moderators or admins.
We have quite a friendly environment and most "roasting" stays within certain circles of community, so it doesn't affect anyone that is not involved. If you feel like you're being abused report it as well.

A question regarding ingame broadcasting.

While it is "limited to advertising in-game tournaments and events" and advertising other things is prohibited, may we use the ingame broadcasting system as a global message sender to just say -hello- to the game or express your feelings (of course as long as they follow the rules and do not advertise anything)?

Generally broadcasting is only limited to in-game events and should not be used for personal reasons, such as saying hello.
