did you use gimp? i can see the shining coming from him is an effect the text looks ok background is just put in but it looks good.

Hmm.... So zoomed in as it is it looks quite pixelated and strange.
But as I see it as your avatar, the whole thing actually looks quite smooth and nice.
The only thing I might say you should change is the tori's pose.
Or maybe the fact that you can see that the shoulder is lowered, etc.
