I turned a head texture into a globe in gimp how do i turn it back into flat

Not having Gimp installed, but I guess you can go to Filters --> Map --> Map object... and select a default option instead of sphere there.

Well to turn it into a globe you do filters>animation>spinning globe

but i don't know how to turn it back into a flat

You can't, it's a one way operation... well, so long as you don't close GIMP you could hammer undo but that's not really changing a sphere to a flat.
