Whenever I try to spin I'm throwing a limp into one direction as fast as I can and then look for a leg setting which doesn't stop the motion (like standing on extended ankles or jumping). If you are not jumping straight and are falling over you can try to use your shoulders and/or legs to readjust the jump. Those settings vary from move to move though.
Another way would be to use your knee or pecs to push off from the ground.
When spinning contracting glutes and pecs is quite helpful. With a relaxed chest you might be able to spin that one in the contrary direction so you can use it to continue your spin when you ran out of spinning motion.
