He doesn't do good unless hes against an AP mid.
If they team doesn't let you near their ap. ( Such as lots of lane swaps. ) your useless.

I played like 100 rankeds with galio and only 3 times saw swaps. Ppl never think that galio can do something even vs ap coz he is so rare. Maybe on higher elo swaps will happens more often but seems like u can play galio as ap carry till 1600 elo (my top 1587) and easily counter enemy mid player almost every game. For example shaco is bad choice on high elo too but still very popular on bronze-gold.
