I really like Edgar Allan Poe (wink to AussieCunt), who put a really peculiar atmosphere in his novels. The last edition illustrated by Benjamin Lacombe (no English translation unfortunately) showed really well this dark/gloomy ambience.

from what i've heard, it's slang for "Politically/Socially aware". In this case he may be using it ironically haha. I feel that a hint of narcissism comes with saying you're woke. A healthy amount.

Dr Seuss is a really good author. Green eggs and ham is one of the more sophisticated books.
