learning to paint
This is my 'painting diary', where I'll post wips of stuff that I'm drawing.
I started drawing everyday since I made this thread, at least 1-2 hours a day.
Some spoilers contain comments and tid bits of information about the state of the picture.
Below are all the shit I made
Found this pic online and thought it'd be great practice to try and draw her.
I saved this under the same file name for a while so the earlier stages of the drawing got lost.
I probably won't draw the rest of her or finish this one.
Tools used: Smooth Watercolor Brush, Textured Watercolor brush, Blender tool as of pic 4.
I have to work on the mouth more
Will definately include the hair on this one, and maybe the rest of the body
got sick of painting the face, so I started working on the hair
First attempt at painting a portrait, didn't come out as good as I expected.
There's definitely room for improvement, but I learned a lot along the way.
using a lot of layers for this one
the outlines are jagged because I used the magic wand tool. will clean up later
almost time to paint the center...
yay..
I ended up painted over the two outmost pettels on the left and right side again because they were too rough.
Most layers I've ever used. In the end it added up to 17.
It turned out ok in the end tho.
A lot of stuff needs fixing still, so next i'll do a more refined sketch, and wait with the painting.
First painting where I didn't trace a single image, but studied poses, and a bunch of pictures of the person instead.
the angle of the head is probably the hardest part, but i'll stick with it
Program: Manga Studio
Tool: Wacom Intuos
