I have a problem making textures transparent in photoshop.

I was able to make some transparency in my trail texture, but now when i try to make transparent areas on my head texture they come out black.

I have tried making transparency many different ways. From erasing the background, using alpha channels, and saving as a .png or .tga

I have googled many different posts and can't find a solution, please help

yeah.. like i said in the original post, i have tried simply erasing the background.


This is the result i get when i erase/cut the background, or use alpha channels to create transparency. The file is transparent until it is uploaded.

I think it only works with png files, but, im not 100% sure.

Yeah, if you make it a PNG and save it with layers it should work.

It does that with shadders a lot of the time. Try turning them off if you have not?

I turned off shaders but the image is still turning black. Link, you just mean the shaders in toribash?

I actually have the same problem. When I upload it as a real texture, it's just a black head.
