FUCKING ALL OF THEM

~~~~~~1.~~What~wushu~is~all~about?~~~~~~~
Contrary to popular belief, Wushu isn't a 50 turn frames judo,where everything depends on an opener. Wushu is all about improvisation and comebacks.
~~~~~~2.~~What~is~impro/improv?~~~~~~~~~~
What is improvisation? In short, it's simply randomly clicking on the start or at least semi-random (with attention not to dq). But this is not an opener, for sure.

~~~~~~~~~2.~~What~is~comebacks?~~~~~~~~~
Comebacks is when you are coming back to your opponent...
this is how does it looks like ingame
~~~~~~~~~3.~~How~to~earn~skill?~~~~~~~~~~
The only way
of earning good skills in Wushu is by starting with random clicks. Why? Because after you mashed up all your joints, you have to start fighting somehow, and the only way is by set yourself up to attack your opponent. It also teaches you how to avoid dqs.

~~~~~~~4.~~Why~do~I~need~set~ups?~~~~~~~
Now, why do we need set-ups? They might be used for attacks and comebacks, both important aspects of wushu.
~~~~5.~~What~good~match~is~all~about?~~~~~

Tripoding
, and running away is lame stuff that you would want to avoid to earn real skills, and have a fair, enjoyable fight. Good form/sportsmanship means making comebacks whatever the score is, even if you're winning. It's good for your skills, and your reputation.

~~~~~~~~~~~6.~~Basic~set~up~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So to perform a comeback you need to set it up. There are lots of ways to comeback. Therefore,there are lots of variants for comebacks, but I want to show you this way of setting up and coming back:
CONTRACT WRISTS WHEN YOU TRYING TO SET UP
It doesn't mean this one is better than any other one, I picked it just as an example, and it shares something in common with most comeback set-ups. Captain obvious says: If you extend knee and/or wrist, you will be to move forward, or whatever the side is.
Anyway, most likely you will end up like this:
And as any comeback set-ups, it doesn't mean you can move only to one side. You can use it to move to any direction of your desire. Like this:
As you can see,there are lots of variants. Double arrows show you the direction your tori will move, if you use the joints marked with arrows color.
~~~~~~~7.~~Basic~attack~from~set~up~~~~~~
You also can attack right from this set up, getting something like this:

~~~~~~~8.~~Basic~wrists~comeback~~~~~~~~~
Back to comebacks, that's how comebacks using wrists goes:
It doesn't mean that this is the best way to comeback with wrists. You will have to adjust the comeback according to the situation, captain obvious again.
Using wrists and or elbow/elbows will most probably give you something like this:
VERY IMPORTANT:
when you comeback, try to fly low, close to ground. few small low comebacks are better then one high and far.
~~~~~~~8.~~Tips~by~wushu~regulars~~~~~~~~
Some tips:
Stop moving, then comeback. It will make things easier. also don't play for the win, play for fun. comebacks is what you need to try on your own because you allways had to ajust em. you just need to random click on 1st turn and try to set up. anyway if you wanna become better in wushu thats all up to you. thats only tips. if you will keep trying, you will improve, otherwise not. comebacks and setups require practice all the time, thats not like move which you can learn and it will allways work. try to set up as close to ground as it possible.

~9.~Few~words~about~prediction~by~Brucia~~
Prediction:
One of the most important thing in wushu is the prediction: except in the first round, where is ok to go randomly, then you should ever have clear image what you want to do in the next 100-150 frames, and then move for do it. This of course isn't an easy thing (you need many time for learn how to move as you want, and even after long time you can still wrong), but it's really important to train with this from start imo (sooner start with the train, sooner gain the final results). Prediction is even more foundamental for understanding your enemy movements: every wushuer HAVE to watch what the enemy his doing at the start of every round of close combat (if you are far from your enemy, so is useless to lose time watching what he's doing.. in this case you have to think ONLY to comeback). In this way you can decide wich option is the best between: 1 - defend maybe using contracted elbows and knees for damage the opponent more than how he will do with you; 2 - try to attack for first; 3 - dodge; 4 - try to absorb the hit but only if the enemy's hit is already incoming and there isn't any hope to do 1,2 or 3 to do this you have to use hold and lax in the right points,and possibly using the rotation that will make you move in the same direction of the hit [B]. The 4 could seem a crazy move, because not only you will take points without do any, but it will also let you lose much time, from the moment the enemy's hit will push you away. But when you will master the comebacks (and this is the first thing to do if you want to play wushu), you will understand that even +30k of damage aren't impossible to regain (it need 1 head shot, or 1 good body hit + another average hit etc) in a match of 750 frames (that's why wushu need minimum 750, and every mod with lesser is just a shit) I suggest a "relax all" training for who start to play this mod: learn how work relaxed joints, is maybe the first thing that every wushuer should know (togheter with comebacks). For train with relax you have just to press "c" 2 times often during the match, and then trying to move few joints to see what happen

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~
Wushu variations for training: Wushu with Dojo: Settings:Brushu with Dojo size 700,and type 1. Objective:Controlling your movement and restricting it inside the dojo.This will increase your accuracy in comebacks,and in combat.It will also increase the contact between you and you opponnent,enabling for more combat.Another good thing this variation will help in is dodges.To move away from your opponent's attack,you have to dodge in a manner to avoid getting out of the dojo. Wushu with a larger distance: Settings:Brushu with higher distance 2000/2500,and there can be an dojo,but that's optional. Objective:Mainly,it is to train your comebacks,but it also teaches you how to position yourself when you get close to your opponent.Remember that staying closer to the ground will give you more control over your comebacks,and hence more speed.Increasing the height of your comeback might give you more levarge,but if your opponent has more control and sticks to the ground,he can set up a nasty kick.The rare benifit of increasing the height of your comeback,is when your opponent actually comes back to you from downwards;you'd have an advantage in that position.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~
Relax vs Hold
Both joint states are important, and you should get into the habit of using each when it is appropriate. With hold, it’s fairly straight forward. It’s used for preserving shape of your body parts so that it’s easier to block attacks, balance, and do more damage. Like firm hard soccer balls, held joints channel energy very well and absorb very little of it. Relaxing certain joints (hips and shoulders especially) is crucial for precision and smoothness in your strikes. Say you have gained momentum and your opponent is right ahead, but your shoulder was lowered or raised the previous turn. The best way to strike horizontally now is to relax your shoulder, letting the forward momentum turn your arm into a flail. (you will need to adjust abs/hips/lumbar accordingly, of course) Same thing goes for hips. For example, in order to make the 2nd kick of my helicopter opener strike forward I must "let it loose" by relaxing a hip.
Momentum will then straighten it out. This is but one of countless examples:

Relaxed hip kick

Relaxing some parts of your body is also useful in opener making, because it allows your body parts to bend under gravity and build up potential energy for an attack. Finally, sometimes relaxing is needed in order to save your joints from breaking/fracturing. The more relaxed your body is, the less pressure is put on joints when you come in contact with anything. If you are trying to land from high above, it’s a good idea to relax as many joints as possible and only keep enough active to save you from falling on your ass. Likewise, if your opponent is too close to you to strike with extended limb, you should probably relax knees/elbows to prevent them from breaking on his body. Contracting those works too sometimes, but it sacrifices reach. Here are 2 replays in which a crafty uke puts his shin up in the way of my knee in order to break it. When I kicked with extended leg his plan worked, but the second time I relaxed my knee and came out victorious.

Wrong way to do it
Right way to do it

As you get better you will start to feel when you need to relax a joint or three to make a better approach or lower your body.
Deception
Just like in many other mods, deception is an essential element in wushu. In fact, it is much more important than fancy openers or how fast your kick is. If you are good at reading your opponent's moves, you can win countless games with nothing but a noob clap (my favorite tactic, lol). Not only must you try to anticipate your opponent’s actions beforehand, but you must also make sure it’s hard for him to do the same with yours. Always think before you attack or move anywhere, especially if you are facing a crafty player. Note how your opponent is positioned and ask yourself: is it easy for him to block/dodge from this stance? Will my attack even reach him? Will his sweep counter mine because it’s slower/faster? Is he too near to me to extend my knee; am I risking breaking my leg on his torso? Sometimes it’s best you not proceed with your attack at all, or change it a great deal in order to catch your opponent off guard. Always think what areas of your body your opponent is targeting, think how to avoid his attack, and think what areas of his body will become exposed once he misses his target. Finally, favor no attack over attack that is weak and will leave you exposed. Here are a few replays showing great examples of deceptive maneuvers:

Mobility and Persistence
If you are losing by points after initial exchange, don’t be quick to give up, for victory is still within your grasp! Even if you are leading by points, it's a good courtesy to come back. Comebacks work more the more you actually attempt them. Trust me, after a while you will see just how effective they can be. Here are a few comeback replays you may want to look at, and note how and why they worked. Pause the replays and note the ankle and wrist positions.

Leg comeback 1
Leg comeback 2
Leg comeback 3
Leg comeback 4
Wrist comeback 1
Wrist comeback 2

Main thing with comebacks is you have to think fast. Even while still in air, you should already be messing with your joints in order to land in a good position. Easiest way to go where you want to go is to use contracted wrists to propel yourself. This is because it’s much easier to set a right angle with your pecs, hands and shoulders than it is with legs. Generally, the lower the angle (eg the closer your center of gravity is to the ground), the faster you will go. Think of a speed boat. Why does it go so fast? Well, because it’s nearly parallel to the surface. If it was more perpendicular, it would flip because its center of gravity would be too high up. Make sure you have an attack ready for when you reach them. You may of course comeback without using wrists or contracted knees, but it’s a little harder and requires good momentum control.

More about comebacks
-Comebacks are made in such a variety of different ways. Literally every part of the body is used in different ways to comeback. Here I will explain some of the different body formations to make a comeback.
Comeback Position 1:Knee in front. The objective of knee in front is (kind of self-explanatory), where your back is facing the back of the opponent, and your knee is in front of yours.

hxc coming back ftfw.rpl
Comeback Position 2: The shoulder pump. Sometimes, your arm will be behind you and when you lower it and hit the ground, your momentum will be rushed over to the rest of your body, after which, you can raise your shoulder, to get back in the game!

hxc good comeback.rpl
Comeback Position 3: The backwards launch. This is a very simple 3 joint change which makes you move backwards. This is one move that I can tell you EXACTLY what to do, and will not worry if you use it in-game as it is not my own. All you need to do is contract one hip, extend that same's leg knee, and then extend the other hip. This will instantly set you backwards, to be used not only to avoid rush openers, but if your back is facing the opponent, then you will be moving close and closer to your opponent.

hxc me vs playaj.rpl
Comeback Position 4: Knee in back. The knee behind you position is somewhat difficult but very efficient if you can pull it off. Each knee position will require use of your knee, ankle, and glutes, along with with your pecs, shoulders, and elbows, to position perfectly. The objective in this is to keep your knee behind yourself, wrapped, to launch at the opponent.

hxc vs kickass air battle.rpl
Comeback Position 5: Contracting the wrists. This is one of the most important, easiest, comebacks ever. All that you truly need to do is contract your wrists, and when their pushed down and pinned to the ground, extend them.

Now, some people may still have problems with comebacks, and thats okay, like poker, it takes only a few minutes to learn, but a life time to master. But I can help you here. So this guide will also be used for a thread of help, just write your name here and schedule a time in which we can meet in-game for a private match up to see where you are struggling. However, the help doesn't end there, if anyone wants, they can post replays of their own here where they NEED help in making some sort of comeback in their multiplayer and wonder how they could have came back. If I can get to all of them, I will try to reveal how you could have made it back to them (*NOTE* Not EVERYTHING is savable to a comeback). I want to finally point out that the openers used in the replays are made from my personal improv and customized made so please do not use them in game, they were only used to implement a scenario which you guys could see how to comeback. I still want to keep all my openers personal. ALSO USING OPENERS IS GAY AT NOWDAYS STANDARTS

Hey, this is a good tutorial but you might want to change the font type because it is sort of hard to read.
nice job snaaake ;p i love the drawings and all, would really be helpful for some of the beginners.

Bojan did make the art i guess ;p
I remember i was dueling with PLN from fl0w. We was improvising and we was coming back to each other. That made the duel really fun, i won also 3-0 ;p

Kzero, yeah it is but i did it sometime, i was so lucky ;p
