100-Themes-Challege; T3al edition
What is the 100 Themes Challenge?
#100ThemesChallenge is a group that aims to inspire artists with a challenge. Many artists suffer from artist block from time to time, and sometimes the best way to fix it is to appeal to the side of our nature that rises to a challenge. We hope to motivate artists of all types with themes, short prompts, and contests. 100 Themes Challenge simply gives artists a starting point... you go from there!
How does it work?
There are five variations, each with 100 themes. You can pick your favorite variation from the 5 pre-existing ones or mix and match themes from multiple variations. When you’ve decided which variation you’d like to work on, pick a theme and use it as inspiration to create!
You don’t have to go in order and there are no limitations on the medium (or mediums!) you use to complete the challenge.
|
Let's collect 100 ideas for our own variation,
then we'll cover them together. (not everybody has to do each one, but together we make them all.)
Post ideas here! (Preferrably one you can express well in 3d)
When we have collected 100, we'll start!
When we're done, we'll have a nice gallery with at least one work per topic!
This is a challenge over multiple months.

How about
Low poly character from concept to finished model.
Maybe throw in some weapons in there (Sword, axe, pistol)
3D match-moving to IRL footage.
(if not) 3D implemented in IRL photo
A rigged model (not those horrible stiff rigs)
A textured character with additional bumpmapping
Photorealistic model
Modeling food.
Mechanisms that works.
Engines.
Fluid simulation. (picture or video)
Toon render of car, character.
Yeah that was more than 5 variations :P

Well, the topics shouldn't be like the ones we had in the weekly challenges and probably, you should be able to cover them in 2-3 hours, a fluid sim, rigging, motion tracking, all that is rather complicated.
Think easier! More in the direction of what aerox said, it seems that more complicated stuff scared off some of us. (Which I apologize for)

Might as well add it. I'd think some of us wants training in something that is not plain modeling, there will still be lots of beginner friendly stuff in there, and it will give you more options.

Lots of low poly models like animals, water bottles, pop cans, a lot of texturing! Some compositing would be cool, too. And lighting excersizes! Creating the best render with limited objects, like just three area lamps, a cube, and a ground plane.

you don't seem to get the point.
challenges=/=Themes here
2 different things.
You have to give a certain theme, like love, bottle, explosion, cake with room for interpretation... not like that. It should be easy to do what you want.
This belongs in the challenge suggestion thread. And it's good!

ooooh... I get it now.
How about... fear, violence, warmth, color, being different, thinking outside the box, crazy, comparisons, life, death, evil, good, fun, boring, and derp?
