I just told you that it doesn't "make sense beyond a reasonable doubt." It is proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

I tend to start a new topic if I have a new point of discussion.
Righto, what about this, slightly on topic in the mind body genre.
NEW QUESTION:
If you could have your consciousness implanted into a cyborg body, causing you to live without pain or fear until the end of your days/forever, would you do it knowing that you would never have any emotions or feel anything again?
You'd have your memories and you'd know the emotions you would have otherwise felt, but you cannot experience the emotions themselves.

Isn't there no guarantee that a doxa will align with fact? Eg it may be doxa that space is a vacuum...

That is true. For examples, see pretty much all of Aristotle's predictions about astronomy and science. To avoid this, philosophy aims at subject matter that isn't empirical or investigative; rather abstractions, concepts, ideas, the nature of these concepts, and parts of reality that is not accessible to science. Still, doxa allows us to give reason to think that what it seeks to prove may be fact (at least like I said, beyond a reasonable doubt, granted the argument's logic is sound and is construed correctly).

Thus as I said, doxa is not equivalent to fact.

Exactly. I never said doxa is not fact, I said doxa is knowledge. Simply, it is an opinion justified by logic.
For example, even if one says they believe in God because of a philosophical argument, they cannot say it is a fact that God exists.

> I said doxa is not fact
> you disagree with me
Therefore you are saying that doxa is fact

I disagreed with you on the accusation that doxa just "makes sense" I even drew the lone between fact and doxa myself when I explained that fact is proven beyond the shadow of a doubt and doxa is proven beyond the reasonable doubt.

I am perfectly content in my human nature. Fear and pain is just a part of life, and I don't think I am very comfortable with removing them from my experience. Maybe I just don't want to be alien to the rest of mankind, but the fact that fear and pain is universal to everyone makes those two dimensions of the human experience just a bit more easy to accept.

You just use synonyms...
Either you are agreeing with me that doxa is not fact, or you are disagreeing and saying doxa is fact.
You can't disagree with me but agree with me, this is a binary choice... :I

I've realized that once you touch the oven, it burns you. So reality, in itself, can be proven through pain/tests/touch. All of the five senses, even though sometimes I wonder,
how did all of this happen, what is the point, and what started it all, and why?
I simply cannot answer the mysteries of life, we are put here, for a reason, and what it seems, to be tested, it almost seems like life is sometimes a sick, twisted game, spawned with the only intentions of seeing how people crumble/break/fold under pressure. If you think about it, life seems like a hunt.
A minute can seem an hour,
once you touch the hot grease on the frying pan,
A hour can seem like a minute,
once you touch the body of your find lady/male friend.
Quote by L.L. Cool J, *Deep Blue Sea* Great movie, great storyline, but the quote serves its own purpose. Inspiration.
