Aikido is a mod in which the tori's mainly try to diqualify the opposing player, whether its inside the ring or out. The safest tactic for newer players would be to extend ankles. This usually helps when you are in the air, or vice versa. Its always good to stay on the ground.
Aikido's variants include AikidoBigDojo(ABD), Greykido, Runkido, Minekido and Aikido7.
ABD pertains to points, but at most times dismemberments and dqs.
Greykido is aikido but with platforms to save you from lifts out of the ring.
Runkido is aikido with differentiating rules, mainly a larger engage distance.
Minekido is an ABD variant with platforms inside the ring that are not ment to be touched. If you touch the platforms its an automatic loss.
Aikido7 is aikido mod with limited body part grabs to exclude doublegrabs and self-damage to encourage throws and pindowns instead of brawling.
Judo is a non-dojo mod that runs on long turn frames and short distance. The best tactic for judo is a high hitting move, since moves closer to the ground tend to dq more often. A stiff posture is most desired, yet relaxing can leave room for comebacks. Grabbing is usually best, unless you think you can score enough points without a comeback.
Judo's variants include Judofrac, Judodojo, mushu and LJF.
Judofrac is judo with a higher fracture threshold, and no dismemberments.
Judodojo is judo which prevents people from running.
LJF is judo with doubling turnframes, and a better threshold ratio.
Wushu is a non-dojo mod that allows improvisation and creativity. Wushu is mostly based on points, but can also be dq. The best tactic for this mod is learning counter-strikes and comebacks, as they could change the outcome of the match.
Wushu variants include wushu3, brushu, wushu_pro, and wushufixed.
Taekkyon is a 120 frame match with 10 frame turns. Taekkyon offers chances to retaliate, but movement is limited after a grab is made. The best tactic for taekkyon is to either grab the opponent and try to kick, or to counterstrike an incoming attack for maximum damage, and flow discrepancies.
Taekkyon variants include erthtk, erthtkv2, and kickbox.
erthtk and erthtk2 are both taekkyon with a no dq dojo between the two players.
Twinswords(twinsword4fixed) is an opener based dojo mod where your hands are swords. The turns are 50 frames long, and the match itself is There are many ways/tactics to win, your opener just has to be effective and non-counterable.
Twinswords variants include shaolintwinswordsfixed, twinswordtrue, twinsword4fixed2, twinsword2000fixed, and twinsword2014fixed.
Spirit Wrestling is a high gravity grappling mod where the aim is to pin your opponent or throw him out of the dojo. Because of self-damage and low starting frames, openers dont matter as much as they do in other grapple mods. The main tactic to win is to move carefully and act fast, as self-damage can hurt your chances to win, and 30 frame dq timeout makes it difficult to pin other players. The best bet is to try and grab the opposing players chest.
Spirit Wrestling Variants
Spirit Wrestling variants include swfixed, realspiritwrestling, and sw4.
sw4 is spirtiwrestling mod with limited body part grabs to exclude doublegrabs, includes self-damage, and no ankle dq but wrists dq.
Rk-mma is a wushu-like mod, in which the main aim is to stay inside the dojo, or if youre experienced enough, to score more points. The best tactic to win is to stay toward the ground, dont make any jumps if its not necessary. There is a 30 frame dq timeout as well, but you dont want to touch the ground for too long.
Variants of Rk-mma include lenshu3ng, stabjutsu_original, and ninjutsu.
Boxing is a high gravity mod in which the feet are anchored to the ground for more mobility above the belt, so punches are easier to pull. Most matches are for points, others may result in dq.
A list of mods that may be similar to boxing are here.
Sparring mods are mods used to spar. The main point behind a spar is to create a good replay, not to see who wins or who has the most points at the end. Parkour mods are like spars, but are used to challenge players. The main purpose behind a parkour mod is to either make a good replay or get to the end of the course faster than your opponent. The best tactic here is to practice in Freeplay mode or work with movement ingame with a tutor or a friend.
