well i just got this type of idea from another indie game.
when u get a namechange there, in your profile is a line which says "Before known As ...." where "...." meant to be the old name.
this way u can know who the person with the new unknown name is.

i dont think its that hard to add such a part in the user profile. may it just gets added to those "mini statistics"
im bad at making an pic for that.
may someone is so nice and just takes the mini statistics and adds such a line too it.

Oooh, like in RuneScape if you get a name change it says last known as 'name' I like this idea, should be pretty cool. But, what happens if you get more than one name change, does it say last known as your first name, or last known as your previous name?

well i think if u get several namechanges there should be either a list or it should be the first one shown. (which uve registered with, before a namechange)

I like this Idea, one time I forgot that -Ben got a name change again, If you have a lot of name changes, there should be a History of name changes (as told above)

The limit of changing your name must be like 5 :I

McDonalds, buying 5 name changes is highly unlikely
Every time you buy a namechange the price to buy another one doubles..
1st one - 100k
2nd - 200k
3rd - 400k
4th - 800k
5th - 1600k = 1.6m (million)

a 5th namechange would cost 1,6million tc.
it is limited by itself due the price, cause it doubles everytime u get one 1-2-4-8-16-32-64 etc.
means at some point u would have to pay like 6,4million tc for a namechange..

so there is nothing like "true" limit needed. cause im sure no one would buy a namechange for 640$

This is a great idea and has my full support as well. The list of previous names could just be thrown into the player's profile so it wouldn't clutter up any other areas (such as by your forum avatar or signature or something similar).
