Future you
I was wondering what you guys see yourself like in a few years. What do you want to be?
What do you study?

Currently, I'm studying biomedical science at the Catholic University of Leuven (KUL). I am doing this because I failed the entrance exam for medicine. My current curriculum is a proper preparation for the entrance exam and I'll be participating next year too (hopefully, more successfully). I want to finish my medicine studies and then specialise in surgery or psychiatry.

I failed the entrance exam because I came from a curriculum that barely had any science (I studied Latin/German/French/English/Dutch in secondary school) and the entrance exam consists of maths, physics, chemistry and biology. I barely prepared for the first exam (there are two exams every year) and scored 7/20 for the science part, which isn't that bad considering I scored better than people with a 100% science curriculum. I scored 9.5/20 on the second exam. For some reason, it was significantly more difficult than the first exam. You would think that because fail rates for the first exam were higher than earlier years (about 15% passed), they'd make the second exam "easier". They didn't.

Anyway, I don't mind doing an "extra year" because
1) They 'cut' the medicine bachelor from 7 to 6 years. Then you can do a master (4-6 years depending on which specialisation you choose).
2) I'm 2 years ahead :oD
