Lmao really dude? r/kappa? Wanna know how I can tell you don't actually play fighting games?

Smash is hardly part of the FGC, but as a member of the FGC and fighting game enthusiast (if you want to play some tekken, gg, melty blood or any SF game i'd be super down), my take is that it is so similar in just about every mechanic to other fighting games, that when some drooling pissass like you tries to make the argument, it's clear the subtext is that you're just trying to reiterate what we all know already: smash is not part of the FGC. However... it's still a fighting game.

Just because the furry hasn't won a major, or one of our best players got arrested (twice!) for sexual assault of a minor, or that one of our *other* best players is not shunned from the scene for beating his wife, there is no real argument, mechanically wise as to why Smash is not a fighting game. If you are going to argue that it is too different to other fighting games mechanically, what is your take on MvC? or Melty Blood? or fucking Sailor Moon?

And for that link, do you realize that SF was designed to be a fucking arcade game? As in, a quarter-eating child-exploitation device? (Seems to be a theme among the FGC) I don't really understand how the philosophical form of a game can be decided by its creator in one case but not in another. If I develop and release a bad game, and say, "this game is good," does that a good game make? Where is your argument, you fucking retard?

If you really aren't convinced, this is from the man himself, also from that link:

“…[Melee] basically ended up becoming a Smash Bros. game for hardcore fighting fans. I personally regret that…” (EDGE, August 2014, Issue 271, pg 7 (

"I had created Smash Bros. to be my response to how hardcore-exclusive the fighting game genre had become over the years," Sakurai said, though it ended up having the opposite effect. "But why did I target it so squarely toward people well-versed in videogames, then?" (

"[Even] if I ever had a chance at another one, I doubt we'll ever see one that's as geared toward hardcore gamers as Melee was. Melee fans who played deep into the game without any problems might have trouble understanding this, but Melee was just too difficult." (

Looking back, nearly a decade on, Sakurai seems proud of Melee overall. "Melee is the sharpest game in the series," he wrote. "It's pretty speedy all around and asks a lot of your coordination skills. Fans of the first Smash Bros. got into it quickly, and it just felt really good to play." (
