Its hard to put into words why I don't like the Toribash TikTok, especially because the style of Toribash content has changed so much over the years. Plus, TikTok as a medium is a whole different beast compared to YouTube, and you gotta format the content to survive on the platform. Either way, this is how the content on TikTok made me feel as a viewer and as a player.
1.) Music Choice ►

I get that using certain audio makes videos more likely to show up on people FYP or appear higher on various tags, but I would probably cry myself to sleep if I saw one of my replays featured but it played at 1.25x speed and the music was Love You So, Funny Song, As It Was, or any song that has "(tiktok song)" in its YouTube title. As a viewer, as soon as I hear that same song I heard hundreds of other times while doomscrolling, usually played over content I hate seeing on my feed anyways, I tune out. Even as someone who can appreciate the work that goes into making the replays that are showcased, I struggle to watch the whole thing because the audio makes me want to swipe up immediately. The purpose of these videos should be to make the game appealing, not farm for views.
2.) Captions (Comment Baiting, Advertisement, Condescending) ►

Asking for engagement is never a good look, especially when its completely unrelated to the content.

Seeing the game name plastered all over my screen and where to get it has strong "merch link in bio" vibes. Not appealing. I'm already conditioned to avoid any product that advertises itself like this.

I mean, its clear this is a 1v3 replay even by the very first frame. I'd rather see captions and text to speech be used to comment on how impressive or unconventional the replay is, or maybe something witty. Otherwise it feels like the caption and text to speech was a requirement but nothing substantive could be added about the video.
3.) Choice of Replays ►
As impressive as sparring, tricking, parkour replays are, they don't accurately represent the Toribash multiplayer experience. I'd like to see more madman replays featured for the singleplayer side of Toribash, and impressive saves/comebacks/dms/etc for the multiplayer side. Madman replays can be created and appreciated at any skill level, and multiplayer replays with a singular "deciding moments" are what those who play multiplayer live for, drives others to play and seek out their own moment of greatness. I also like the idea of featuring sports mods, but I'd like to see emphasis placed on mods that are easier to learn and more often yield a satisfying replay. Skateboarding, boxing, and car racing mods come to mind.
