How about an actual interview process? Similar to what Meta use. Have the person join a skype group or something. All idea's to consider.

Indeed, perhaps we should converse via Skype? Make said group in advance. From my understanding, you can't see anything written in a skype group prior to you joining, so it should be pretty safe.
