Anyone have some plugins that they think is pretty essential?
Since the introduction of bumpmaps, the Normalmap tool is pretty useful if you do them.
Also, today, avwave helped with getting a better sharpen tool for me
It really helps for gimp since I think a lot of the gimp textures are a bit blurry in nature. The handdrawn ones to be more exact. Its just how gimp works.
Wavelet sharpening really helps with this

Also, for people more into letting filters do the work there is always that bevel/emboss plugin, which is pretty useful if you want the old style robos.
