Yep, very confusing. I accidently said "merry christmas" to some old lady giving out candy.

I've never really had a problem with confusing holidays. I classify them by colors in my head.
Halloween = black
Christmas = white
Thanksgiving = brown
Valentines day = red
St Patties = dark green
etc
etc
