You can download the source SDK for free if you own hl2 or any other source game like tf2, l4d, gary's mod, etc

i did get me the orange box for the sdk, its just useless for l4d, still.

Actually, Left 4 Dead's SDK wasn't included with launch. Only the old Orange Box version. The L4D SDK was delayed a few times, and the version of it released when Survival came out was buggy.
Boycotting a game before it's released is about as stupid as fanboyism. (If that ain't a word, it is now. I just made it.)

Valve knows how to make games. And they've not really had a tradition of building out existing games rather than making successors (or episodes for that matter), which happen to be almost exclusively good. I don't think judging L4D2 before it comes out signals much intelligence from your respective parts. It's like saying the upcoming Max Payne 3 game is bad because Max Payne has gone fat and bald.
