Are you by any chance familiar with the show enough to talk about stuff with me to a further extent than "Oh, cool."?

Spinning bar-type bots have definitely proven to be effective thus far in the series.

You might want to take note that the bars are susceptible to snapping due to the impacts, and your bot will also go out of control due to the recoil of the blow.

From the above points, I would suggest you:

1) Prepare spare bars

2) Have a backup weapon in case it snaps during battle

3) Make sure your chassis can withstand the shock of the recoil

4) Try to have a low CG to avoid flipping yourself from the impact.

5) Put LEDs on your bar so that it will shows a dickbutt when it spins

Yes a dude who knows his stuff! Teach me Senpai. And what if the bar was Tungsten? I hear it'd pretty strong. I was also thinking of a generic Lightweight/Middleweight Bot with a buzzsaw as a weapon. Pretty generic but I think it'd be fun to start with. Let's talk more I need a BattleBots mentor

For a secondary weapon how about a vertical saw that moves up and down?
