Okay, I'm trying to make a decent banner for the NewsShack and I need some advice.

I'm using GIMP to make this, this is the first time I've used GIMP to do anything useful, so I'm not THAT adept at using it.
When I look at the banner it seems too plain, maybe it needs a border or something.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Make the words news shack match of at least be blue it's kinda off the base with the other colors green just doen't match.

Lower the banner height, remove the vortex (or make something less bling bling gay flashy ) Exept this, its awsm =D
