nice idea, but it takes the "global" aspect too literally for liking, also hard to impliment into the systems.
the "global" in gata, refers to how we attend to all art forms, rather than the physical aspect of the world.
which is why oysters speaks to me alot more, because the pillar vibe speaks of the whole support aspect that gata plays in the community. the 2 bottom parts of the 'L' coming inwards sorta encloses the text, embraces it, makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
besides from the point of it being a nice simple piece of design, which is what logo's are about.

the globe idea could be used more as a banner rather than a logo

also, not much relevance behind it, but i tried my hand at it.
not happy with the text though, anyone want to try their hand at the text?

the text is in front of the grey one, so it just says gata, with the grey one there just to get a bit of repetition going. so that if i remove the "ata" from it, it could still stand alone
