I know this sounds like a really useless thing, but, to have some reasons for this: I use forums more on my phone rather than on my PC (and I feel like many also do); When you have for example a thread selling something, it could be an item or texture, or any type of thread that you were expecting some sort of feedback, the best way to check if what you're selling got some interest is by checking the view count, and to do that on mobile I always need to go to settings and switch to Toribash Legacy Skin, which gets tiring when you have to do it so often. I don't think this change would take much time and it wouldn't affect anyone negatively
